Front-End Developer Responsibilities

At Elevate, the Front-End Developer builds and implements interactive websites, functional emails, and rich-media banner ads. The Front-End Developer will work closely with other developers, user experience professionals, and project managers throughout the development life cycle. The Front-End Developer should have experience in industry-standard frameworks and coding languages and the ability to follow technical specifications.

• Building websites, emails, and banner ads
• Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability
• Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages
• Drives coding best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to web development
• Not only able to execute but advise during the design process
• Being the resource for technical or digital topics

Front-End Developer Skills

• Web development: Experience in or knowledge of developing websites.
  • Strong technical knowledge of how web-based technologies apply to web design, such as HTML5, Objective Oriented Programming, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, PHP, and jQuery
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap, Webpack, and other development tools.
  • Experienced working with software versioning/ticketing tools such as JIRA, GIT, or SVN
  • ADA compliance requirements
  • SEO/SEM principles
  • Web and hosting requirements
• Knowledge of how to use source art from Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, Figma, and Sketch during the development process
• Able to advise creative team members on the following:
  • Best practices on code template systems
  • Capable of pushing design and coding opportunities
  • Command of responsive and adaptive design principals
  • Appropriate use of web/web-safe fonts
  • ADA compliance design constraints
• Professional Skills
  • Ability to time manage
  • Support multiple projects at one time
  • Communicate technical concepts via email, phone conversations, and in person to diverse audiences/skill levels.
  • Needs to be a proactive learner

Education/special certification

• 4-year Degree in computer science or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience
